Meta Bright secures energy efficiency contract under zero-capex model
KUALA LUMPUR: Meta Bright Group Bhd has secured a contract to implement an energy efficiency programme at two TMG Mart outlets in Pahang, under a 12-year, zero-capex model designed to reduce power consumption and lower operating costs.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Meta Bright said the project would be carried out by its subsidiary, FBO Land (Serendah) Sdn Bhd, under a conditional energy performance contract with TMG Mart Sdn Bhd.
It added TMG Mart accepted the offer letters on June 5, formalising a collaboration that began with a memorandum of understanding between Meta Bright and Tunas Manja Sdn Bhd last November.
The programme involves the installation and maintenance of demand control drive (DCD) systems, a technology designed to optimise electrical consumption, at TMG Mall Bandar Indera Mahkota and TMG Mall Tanjung Lumpur, both in Kuantan.
Under the agreement, Meta Bright will fully finance, design, install, operate and maintain the DCD systems. In return, the energy savings will be shared, with 80 per cent allocated to FBO Land and the remaining 20 per cent to TMG Mart.
The contract also requires TMG Mart to provide access to its sites, ensure billing alignment with Tenaga Nasional Bhd, clear any outstanding electricity payments and assist with regulatory documentation within a month of signing the offer letter.
Meta Bright said it also reserved the right to withdraw from the programme based on site assessments and data logging results.
